Ste. Adele

Like most Laurentian towns during the winter, this small lakeside village, some 45 minutes north of Montreal, is a ski haven.

In the summer months,  the serene lake makes way for leisurely boating, and swimming while the adjacent slopes allow good biking, hiking, and golf.

A canoe rests in the early morning mist.

The Hotel Chantecler is a huge and popular (and expensive) lakeside resort that also operates the adjacent ski slopes and the golf course. At dusk, the hotel looks calm and romantic from across the lake.

Don't be fooled! Gilles Caplan, the resort's  versatile singer, band, DJ, and comedian, creates a riot at the hotel most weekends.
