The French Alps Proceeding further North, we went to the ski town of Chamonix where we took the cable car to Aiguille Du Midi, a view deck on the magnificent mountain, the Mont Blanc,12,000 ft above sea level. After lunch, we drove to the beautiful and festive lakeside town of Annecy.       View approaching the Alps on the Autoroute

Chamonix This town at the foot of Mont Blanc is where mountaineers gather before challenging the peaks and slopes. From the town square, people would board the cable cars that take them to the top of the mountain or even continue further to the Italian side of the Alps landing at Courmayeur.                    At the foot of the mountain, Kris & Yee prepare lunch on a log.

Mont Blanc - Aiguille Du Midi  This point houses viewdecks near top of the mountain. The panoramic views of the Mont Blanc Massif, the most renowned of the French Alps mountain range, are breath taking.  (We mean that literally as well, since oxygen is scarce at 12,000 feet above sea level.)

Annecy This city beneath a lake features a quaint medieval town with little canals and tiny walking bridges. It is a popular home base for visitors to the Alps (Chamonix is just 45 minutes drive to the east).
