To get to Medugorje, we left Bratislava early morning by bus which took us to the Vienna airport. From there, we flew to the Croatian city of Split. 

The coastal drive from Split to Medugorje was breathtakingly beautiful. Our driver took the scenic route, a four-hour speed-a-thon thru a single lane zigzag road on the mountainside. Look down and you'll see beauty (if you can overcome the dizzy spells).

The bus stopped for a few minutes at a rest area where we had sandwiches and beer.
