With Kristee stuck in Cannes most of the time, Ramon scouted the
countryside with a camera.

Menton
We stopped at Menton briefly to have
dinner. We had been driving seven hours from Switzerland through Italy and
this is one of the first towns in France on the way to Cannes after
crossing the Italian border .
|
|
Antibes
Antibes is supposedly just 15 minutes drive
east of Cannes but the trip can take an hour because you need to weave
through a lot of traffic to get there.

Cassis
You can get to Cassis by driving
about two hours westbound from Cannes towards Toulon and Marseilles. The
village is situated in a beach cove adjacent to magnificent cliffs. Some
nice houses are situated right on the cliff sides.

|
|
Park your boat here! The
beaches act as a breakwater, allowing the town center to be used as a
marina.

You can take the 40-minute drive up to the top
of the cliffs along Route des Crête for a bird's eye view of the coasts.

Eze
Eze is about 30 minutes east of Cannes near
the France-Monaco border. The old town consists of stone houses and a
church situated at the top of a hill and facing the ocean.

|
|

|
It was foggy during our visit there so the
ocean was not visible at all. The fog was so thick, you could barely see
the top of the church tower!
